I was born and bred in Derby. On leaving school I worked as a Photogravure Etcher for 15 years in Derby and Bristol (interrupted by 2 years National Service). I entered Handsworth Theological College at the age of 31 and then served in 7 circuits in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Co. Durham and Cambridgeshire. Apart from circuit ministry I have been a chaplain to industry, Hospice and Prison. I also served as District Youth and Community Secretary, District Probationers’ Secretary and District Candidates’ Secretary, as well was being attached to 2 of our Church Schools. I ‘retired’ in 2000 joining Nottingham East Circuit, then the Borders Mission Circuit and finally (perhaps!) Nottingham North Circuit.
